Welcome friends, to ‘The Big Lap On A Budget’

We are a regular family planning and preparing for our big lap of Australia.

We hope to travel around our wonderful country for 12 months and to see as many things on our bucket list as possible, and to meet many more families who are travelling their big (or even small) Lap of Oz.

​

It’s all new to us, the furthest we’ve been is to QLD and NSW on our trip to be with our brother while he passes away from cancer at just 42. Apart from that rush trip, we’ve only been within SA.

​

We have just purchased a new caravan in November 2019. It’s amazing, a Jayco Starcraft Outback, 22.9ft.

We own our cars and caravan, but looking to upgrade our current tow vehicle. Mr is already driving a Toyota LandCruiser Kakadu. She’s a beautiful car but Mr wants a diesel, to make towing our new van less stress on the engine and more fuel efficient.

We’ve created this group in the hope that our preparations can help others in our position as we jump hurdles to get us to our target. We know we are going to find learning curves, but perhaps you’ve already been where we are and have advice that would assist us and other people within our group community, after all, talking to experienced people is the best learning to avoid mistakes.
